August

Wow, it's half way over already! The whole year had flown by pretty quickly, but the last couple weeks in particular have passed in a blur.

I already wrote in my last post about us moving to our new house. It has been SO much work, but we are having a great time with it. I feel like I'm ignoring all my friends though...sorry friends! I still love you all :)

As well as moving, Daniel's uncle and family are living in their holiday trailer in our yard and we are having a great time with them. I love having another woman around all the time to cook with, visit with and run errands with. I will be so sad when they find a new house. Sad for me, that is. I'll be very happy for them!!!

At the beginning of the month I drove down to car stairs to pick up my older girls from daniel's parents' house. While I was there, my sister in law and I ran te color run! I've been wanting to do it for years, and when I heard it was coming to Canada I signed up as fast as I could. I'm glad I did too...it was pretty awesome! Loud music, hyper adults, and a run that was short enough to not kill me :) I can't wait to do it again!

Speaking of running....there was this past weekend. The Emperor's Challenge. The run of all runs...at least for me! Last year was my first year doing it, and while I wouldn't say it was the same type of fun as the color run, I really enjoy it. I love the personal challenge...there is NOTHING like the feeling of knowing I crossed the finish line of that mountain (literally)!! This year was extra special for two reasons: 1. Addison and Tegan ran the 2km kids race while I was on the adult course. Not only did they run it, but Tegan won first place for her age group and addison won second! 2. When I was about 300 meters from the finish line, they met me on the course and ran along the sidelines to finish the run with me. If I hadn't been so dehydrated, I would have burst into tears. As it was though, I just heaved out some dry sobs as I tried not to collapse. It was a pretty amazing day!

The girls. What can I say about these four? How did we manage to get four girls with such very different personalities? I am so glad we did because we are most definitely never bored! Except of the whiney stage Danica is in...I'm bored of that and it can go away any time now :)

Last week I was in Grande Prairie shopping with the younger two. While perusing around sears, The song Firework comes over the speakers, which led Myka to promptly break into a choreographed dance routine. "That's all I bemember mom, but you should see me do it when I'm playing the wii!", she said as she popped her elbows up. She's such an entertainer and makes me smile so many times every day!

Tegan seemed to grow into a young adult in the month she was gone. I can't believe how grown up she looks lately...I coul just stare at her for hours! She's the quiet, creative one in our family and her quiet confidence draws people in and makes them want to just be near her...I know she has that effect on me!

Anyways, I think that's a wrap for our August so far! I hope the rest goes slowly so we can enjoy each and every last bit of summer!

P.S. we bought a new fridge this week. It's all fridge. I'm in love. Fridge love.
