I've been feeling very blessed lately, if not a little spoiled :) I love so many things about our new house, so I thought today I could focus on those things!
Ten things I'm thankful for that have to do with our new house:
1. First and foremost, I'm thankful for my talented husband who, over the last four years has rebuilt this house almost from the ground up. The love, commitment and work he put into it are so evident in every part of it!
2. I'm thankful for the help we've had. A few friends have helped with different areas over the past few years, and I can't say how much I've appreciated that. There are just some things I'm not skilled enough to help Daniel with, and I'm glad that he didn't have to do them alone.
3. I'm thankful for our new bathtub. It is so refreshing to be able to take a bath deep enough that the water actually covers my legs! Also, the hot water heater is bigger, so it will actually fill a tub before getting cold :) it's the little things...
4. I'm thankful for my new fridge. We got one that is ALL fridge. I posted a picture in my last post. It's huge, and I'm sure I will end up using every inch as the girls get older and their appetites grow!
5. I'm thankful for my huge kitchen. I've always believed that the kitchen is a main part of a house. A place to visit and have coffee, to bake yummy treats, and to cook food for family, friends, or whoever might drop by. I've always dreamed of having a large island, and this one surpassed all of those dreams. I keep picturing each of my girls and I sitting across from it, sipping tea and talking about their days.
6. I'm thankful for our wood stove. One of my favorite places to be is curled up in a comfy chair near a wood stove on a cold day...and as much as I don't want winter to come yet, I will enjoy those times that I can do that :)
7. I'm thankful for the girls' bedrooms. I love the way they are set up, I love their beds, and I love the colors! I've beer had "pretty" beds for the girls, and now the older two have pretty white ikea beds and the younger two are on a bunk bed that I painted white. I'm having fun decorating those rooms!
8. I'm thankful for the size of our house. It's not huge, and I love it that way, it's big enough for us to fit comfortably, and small enough that it's cozy, easier and quicker to clean, AND it encourages me to live in a clutter-free way. Minimalist living is fine by me!
9. I'm thankful for our yard. It's not much to look at right now, but I have big dreams for it! And by big dreams I mean a huge garden with lots of tomatoes, a chicken coop, and pretty flowers :)
10. I'm thankful to have a laundry room!
It's been quite an experience, building this place the way we have, but we love it. It's the perfect place for us right now...filled with love, music, and crazy awesome little girls :)
