We Are In This Together...

This. Motherhood.

We are all different people, and we all do things a little differently...

Some of us gave birth to our children, some of us adopted them
Some of us stay home, some of us work
Some of us formula feed our babies, some of us breastfeed them
Some of us vaccinate, some of us don't
Some of us make our baby food, some of us buy it
Some of us buy disposable diapers, some of us cloth diaper
Some of us carry (or "wear") our babies, some of us push them in strollers
Some of us don't allow tv or video games in the house, some of us do
Some of us discipline with time outs, some of us discipline with a spanking
Some of us religiously wash and sanitize their hands, some of us just wipe "the big stuff" off
Some of us scrapbook religiously, some of us blog religiously, and some of us don't
Some of us buy oreos, some of us bake cookies
Some of us home cook every meal, some of us don't
Some of us enrol our children in sports of all kinds, some of us send them out to play in the back yard
Some of us take our kids to McDonalds, some of us don't
Some of us have 1 child, some have 19, and everywhere in between
Some of us are very organized, some of us are not

But one thing is the same for all of us.

We would give our lives for these little children that have blessed our lives.

We love them and would do anything to protect them.

And from the above list, whatever it is that YOU do, you do because you know deep in your heart of hearts that it is what's best for your family. In some cases "what's best" is buying dinner instead of making it just so you can keep a shred of sanity after a CRAZY day, and that is good. And sometimes, following the advice of this previous post is also good.

Sometimes it's hard not to judge another mom, and I'm sure we've all done it at one point or another. With Mother's Day just around the corner, I've been thinking about this lots.
As a mom, there is much to learn. We are building into the lives of our children, and it is a daunting task when you have no support.

I would offer some words of encouragement to you this Mother's Day...

Don't be afraid give and receive encouragement from other moms. You might be just what she needed at that moment.

Enjoy the Kairos moments with your children, and laugh often!

Take time to clear your head often...take a bath, read a book, or sit in silence and listen to what God is saying

Take time to have kidless fun...go on a date with your husband or out for an evening with a friend.

To KNOW that you are a good mom because you are their mom, and you are doing a GREAT job.

Happy Mother's Day, fellow moms!
