Thankful Thursday

How was your week? Mine has been pretty awesome, even though not a lot happened. Maybe that's why it was awesome? I didn't go to town at all until today...I just hung out at home or my friend Lindsay's house and got some stuff done!

This week I'm thankful for:

1. Taco Night! There is not one person in our house who is not excited about taco night! And I am happy to announce that after eating tacos at least 3 times a month for the duration of our marriage, I have discovered a way to make the cleanup much easier and more convenient!

It's not fancy, but if you put all of the toppings into tupperware containers, once dinner is done, you can simply put the lids on the leftovers and toss them in the fridge! The only dishes are the pan for cooking beef, and the plates! Awesome, I know. :) Plus it makes it very easy to make quesadillas the next day :)

nummy in my tummy! What are YOUR favourite toppings on a taco?
2. While we are on the subject of food, it's 10:30pm and I have my first ever batch of carrot muffins in the oven. I'm thankful for creative muffin additions when I'm out of berries or bananas!

3. Friends. I can't get enough of that show!

4. That my mom took my girls last weekend...it was so weird but nice to only have one child ALL weekend!

5. That when I went to pick up the girls on Sunday, Bernadette had made a huge vat of french onion soup...my fav! And she is just so good at it!

6. That my jeans are getting too big! Woop whoop :D

7. That "the sickness" has pretty much left our house. Hopefully the only one this year!

8. That Daniel helped me figure out a way to get the original Little Lily Bamboo towels back. He is so wise :D

9. Speaking of Daniel, I'm thankful that he is such a gentle father. I was reading a book this week directed towards wives and how to accept your husband's faults and how to deal with the ones that are serious. The example she gave was a case of a husband being abusive and/or harsh towards the children. While reading it I was just so thankful that I have never had to deal with that problem. He is the most level headed, gentle, and fair father I know, and for that I am extremely grateful!

10. 5 and 6 year olds that can put away their own laundry. Yessss!

11. Going for walks in February without freezing!

12. That Jenny came to Dawson this week and we spent the whole day shopping and hanging out!

13. My new oven :) Well, new to me! Plus, it was free. Yesss!

14. Long phone conversations with Gail!

15. That the girls are growing so well. Addison has grown 2 inches since Christmas! Tegan isn't far behind :)

16. That I have kept our bedroom clean all week!

17. The thermoses that the girls have...it makes packing lunches so easy!

18. Lunch with Amy today. McDonalds "can" be good...if it's shared with a friend!

19. Big, fuzzy king sized blankets for snuggling :)

20. For small miracles. This week, Addison had a bad ear infection. At 10pm she woke up crying in pain...she couldn't even sit still, she was just pacing around the house saying "I just wish I could sleep!" After scouring the cupboards for what else could possibly help her, "pray" was whispered. I grabbed her and sat on the couch, holding her in a firm hug. I prayed quietly, but out loud that God would ease her pain so she could sleep. As I was praying, she stopped whimpering, and by the time I was done, she had fallen asleep on me. Over the next half hour as I help her, I could feel her body relax more and more, and I thanked Jesus for his awe-inspiring, gentle healing.
She slept all night :)

Have a great week everyone!
