Many, many products later...

As many of you know, Little Lily Bamboo products were featured on Babysteals last month. I have loved the site for a long time...it's a great place to get high quality baby products at a fraction of the retail price. I have purchased some awesome products over the last year, including my Fleurville diaper bag that I heart so much!

Anyway, during the process of creating an order for babysteals, I snapped some photos...so here's your behind the scenes look at what it takes to handmake an order this large!

After doing so many math calculations that I thought my brain was going to shrivel up, I ordered all of my fabric. There was a LOT. I think I heard my postal ladies mumbling about me under their breath a few times.
Aaaand, production began. My serger and I became best friends for about a month!
One month after I started. Both of these boxes are filled with wipes...many, many sets of wipes. I didn't do it all alone though. I was blessed by some incredible ladies who gave lots of their time to help! Me neighbor Ivea and her daughter, neice and daughter in law and my mom and Bernadette came all in one day. They sorted, tied, tagged, and bagged wipes all afternoon. I can't thank you ladies enough! I couldn't have done it without you.
The towels. Again, I had awesome help. I sewed, and Kristy rolled, tagged and bagged almost all of the towels herself. I can't believe that she worked the same crazy hours that I worked on this project. She's a great friend!
Ready to ship to Babysteals!
I don't have a picture of my friend Alanna that helped, but I wish I did :) She was magic. I brought her totes and totes of cut wipes, and a few days later would go back to her house and pick up beautifully serged ones! Thank you thank you Alanna, for all your help!
Kristy is in the picture below with me. She was literally with me every step of the way. She pulled all nighters helping me sew and package. She even learned how to use a serger just so she could help me! I can't even express how much I appreciate her as a friend.
And here we are the day we shipped the order. Makeup-less, tired, but oh so happy at what we accomplished!
I have never done an order this large before. I will say that it was definitely a learning experience...I seemed to hit every single roadblock that was possible. There were days when I seriously thought about quitting because I was having trouble thinking of good reasons why I was doing it.
When it was all said and done though, I am so glad I did. I've met so many new friends through the babysteals network, gained business, and...at the risk of sounding arrogant, I'm proud of the fact that I actually took on the challenge and completed it. I also gained a new realization of just how amazing my support network is. I had so many people cheering me on, and helping. It was great to see!
And now, Little Lily Bamboo is growing. More to come on that subject over the next few months, but I'm really excited!
