Tonight as we were sitting in Bible study, a breeze came through the window and turned the page of my Bible. It was so soft that I almost didn't notice it, but when I looked down, this verse is the first that my eyes read. I have read the book of Ephesians so many times in my life, and yet, this verse has never jumped out at me like it did tonight.
There is just so much power packed into these eight words. So much. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it tonight.
I have some friends that are going through some very hard times right now. I also know people who have had wonderful things happen...and this verse applies to both, more than we know.
For this reason...
For this reason, and for any reason:
-To thank him
-To cry out to him
-To pray without ceasing
-To visit with him
-To be still and listen for him
-To share with him
-To love him
-To praise him
-To share our joy with him
-To pour out our sorrows to him
-To draw on his strength
-To draw on his wisdom
-To ask
I kneel before...
When I think about these words, the song "I can only Imagine" by Mercy Me comes to mind; specifically the words "Will I stand in your presence, or to my knees will I fall?"
It is impossible to put into words just how powerful our God is. The God who spoke us into being...who spoke the SUN into being. The God who creates infinite beauty. There is just no scenario where I can picture myself actually standing before him. "Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim, you are amazing God!" (Indescribable). THAT is our God.
The Father...
Powerful? Most definitely. Big? Bigger than we could ever imagine. Strong? Wise? Yes.
When we think about the things God does, and the things he can create with a single word, it's easy to think "so why me?" God created us because he wanted to have a relationship with us. He could have created us in such a way that we would automatically do what he says, and love him unconditionally, but he didn't. He wanted us to have the choice, and to be in a relationship with him if we so choose.
And, if we do choose to be in a relationship with him, and to allow him to lead us, he becomes our Father. Our heavenly Father, and the perfect father.
No matter what we come to him with, he is there:
-To clean us up
-To strengthen us
-To encourage us
-To teach us
-To listen to us
-To cry with us
-To smile with us
He really spoke to my soul tonight, and I felt compelled to share it with you...whoever may read this. Whatever you are going through right now, God wants you to share it with him. He wants to be with you, and he will provide what you need...not always what we "want" at the time, but as a perfect Father, he knows what's best for us and what we need most.
Kneel before your Father tonight :)

So in love with this!! So happy you shared it with us at Upward Not Inward. This is a beautiful and powerful truth. There is something amazing about the way God speaks to us with mere sentences on a page. His Word is relevant and live, and you experienced it here. Praise God. So blessed by your words. Thanks for sharing it with us!!
