I have known Kasey for about 5 years now, and though we have never been close friends, she is an amazing person and I love when I run into her in town and we can chat for a bit. She is one of the strongest, yet gentlest women I know, and she has two adorable little girls.
But a few nights ago, she lost her husband unexpectedly. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it, because I can't even imagine what she must be going through. My heart literally is aching for her.
I know that there isn't much I can do, especially while she is grieving now, but I want to help her in some way if I can.
While they say "it takes a community to raise a child" I believe that the same holds true for this tragedy. As a community, we can come together to support her in any way we can.
The first thing that comes to mind is helping her in a practical way...maybe gift cards for groceries and diapers and things like that?
Daniel and I are going to do what we can, but I feel compelled to open it up to anyone else who would like to help as well.
I have added a donate button to the side of the blog, and if you are able and willing, I know that every little bit will help.
If you are unable to give financially, please lift her and her girls up in prayer. We serve an amazing God who provides comfort, strength and wisdom, and we need to pray without ceasing that He will come near to Kasey and the girls now more than ever.

This is so heartbreaking, Jade. I'm going to talk to Jamie about donating, but I'm definitely going to be praying for her. So sorry to hear this.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your friend! I'll be praying for her and the girls!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad post. I will keep Kasey and her family in my prayers. My heart goes out to her and her children. My dad literally dropped dead of a heart attack when I was 14. He was only 43. I still miss him.
