I think most of us are familiar with this amazing article written earlier this year. The article talks about being a parent, and how people seem to love reminding you to "carpe diem" because your children's' childhoods pass so quickly. If you haven't read it, you should before you continue reading my post :)
Read it? Good.
Now for today's Kairos moment. In case you didn't read the article, here's a quote from it describing the term:
"Then there’s Kairos time. Kairos is God’s time. It’s time outside of time. It’s metaphysical time. Kairos is those magical moments in which time stands still. I have a few of those moments each day, and I cherish them."
It was about 10 minutes ago. I had picked up the girls from school and they were playing outside with Myka. Danica was napping, and I had just sat down for a small break after putting away groceries.
Then it happened. I glanced out the window just in time to see the girls walking towards the house. It happened so fast that I couldn't grab the camera to capture it, but for a second, time stood still as I took it in. The older two girls were walking briskly towards the house, laughing and chatting. Myka was half walking, half running behind them with her hands tucked into her pockets and a huge grin on her face. All of their cheeks were rosy, and my heart just melted watching them.
This is why I'm a mom.
I can't believe that they are ours. Ours to take care of, to cherish, to teach, and to nurture. We are an incredibly blessed mom and dad.
So beautifully written and these are by far my favorite moments as a mother. There is nothing else that comes close, xoxo
