5 things that make me happy right now!
1. Anything that helps me feel better during this last couple of weeks of pregnancy. The top of the list are my exercise ball and warm baths or swimming! Also, my snoogle pillow :)
2. Usually at least once a day, all four girls' imaginations take off and they play some sort of make believe game with each other. I absolutely love just sitting or working quietly while listening to them play together. It brings back so many memories of my sister Jael and I playing "house" when we were kids! We usually pretended we were moms with babies or princesses riding our horses (mine was a white one named Lightning!). Our girls' games are a bit different. There is usually some sort of animal rescue shelter, and one person is the owner who has taken in baby coyotes, tigers, ponies, or kittens to take care of and train. Not only is it precious to watch, but I love that they are all getting along at once! Win!
3. Snuggling with Daniel and the girls. I knew we got a king sized bed for a reason! LOL. Usually right before bed, or first thing in the morning, at least the younger two come climb up on our bed for some snuggle time. It warms my mommy heart to listen to them chat with Daniel about their day. The older two join in often as well, but not quite as much. It's making me realize how fleeting these moments really are (as if we need another reminder of that, right?), and to cherish them to the best of my ability. It often makes me think of Luke 2:18, right after the birth of Jesus where it says, "but Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart." She knew how special her circumstances were, and I think that even as a very new mom, she somehow knew that slowing down for a minute and pondering the moment somehow makes it stick just a little more in your heart and memory. It's one of those special abilities that moms have :)
4. Laughing. I don't know why I seem to be having such a hard time writing a description for this, but not many things make me feel better than a good laugh. Chatting with my sisters Jael or Dakota is a pretty sure fire way to get me laughing...or my mom for that matter! Daniel and I love texting each other jokes that we have found online throughout the day. Some of them keep me giggling at random intervals all day...and that's why I love him :p
So much humour these days is tasteless and kind of lame, but there is also some great humour out there...and I have a deep appreciation for it. Life really is too short to be serious all the time. We need to be able to find the humour in our situations I think!
A good example is the "funny parenting tweets" that HuffPost parents posts almost every week. Some of them aren't great, but most of the time, they are an awesome example of how this parenting thing can be hilarious in the midst of the spilled milk and pee accidents :)
5. Creating for Little Lily Bamboo. I love having my own little business...it's a great outlet for that little bit of creativity I have! My other creative outlet is cooking, but Little Lily doesn't make me as fat :p
My biggest problem in my business is not spending every penny of profit on new fabrics! I could probably sell two of each print and constantly be coming out with new prints. I love changing things up, and I love picking new fabric!
I have a couple ideas for new products too, and I can't wait to gather the supplies to make them!
Bonus #6! Driving while listening to worship music. The girls and I sing along, and very few things can lift my mood like this! Love it!!
