Superhero

This morning, Myka got Addison to tie a jersey blanket around her neck so she could "wear a cape like a superhero". She spent all morning being adorable, and even wanted to wear it to town!
We were going to town to register the older girls for soccer. I unbuckled everyone, held Danica's hand, and we started walking towards the mall. Too late, I saw Myka fall and realized her hands were in her pockets. My mommy heart plummeted as I watched her slow motion face plant into the gravel filled concrete.
Picking her up, I saw blood start to run down her forehead, then it started coming faster. Quickly, i grabbed her cape and pressed it against her head. I knew everything would be ok, but in the moment I freaked out a little as I tried to figure out how to get them all back in the vehicle, which was across the parking lot. Two very kind ladies helped me buckle everyone in, and we headed to the Dr. To get everything cleaned up. As she laid on the bed waiting to be cleaned up, I said, "it's a good thing you were wearing your superhero cape today!"
Remembering that she was a superhero seemed to help. She dried her tears and was so brave as the Dr cleaned and bandaged her up.
Unfortunately, her white cape is ruined...but maybe we will just have to buy her an actual superhero cape now ;)
